How It All StartedÂ
It all began with a single crochet hook and a ball of soft yarn. What started as a hobby to take my mind off the stresses of everyday life quickly became a passion I never expected.

My journey began with a beginner crochet kit I picked up at Barnes & Noble. I simply wanted to see if crocheting was something I'd enjoy. After just two days of learning, I discovered a genuine passion—and a gift—for bringing handmade creations to life.

Over the following months, that small spark grew into Sofia's Little Creations, a business built on creativity, patience, and love. Every plushie I make is carefully crocheted by hand, and each one represents a part of my journey as a maker.

My Story
Hi! My name is Sofia Uriati, and I'm a 17-year-old girl about to begin my senior year of high school. I was born in Italy and moved to the United States when I was just two years old. Although I grew up in America, my Italian roots have always been a huge part of who I am.
​
My mom was born and raised in the beautiful town of Sora, about an hour from Rome. My dad was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island, but his parents were both born and raised in Italy before immigrating to the United States in search of a better life for their children and future generations. Their courage, determination, and sacrifices have shaped my family and continue to inspire me every day.

I am incredibly proud of my Italian heritage and grateful for the values my family has passed down to me—hard work, kindness, perseverance, and the importance of always supporting one another. Those values are the foundation of Sofia's Little Creations and inspire every handmade piece I create.
​
Crocheting started as a hobby, but with the love and encouragement of my family, it has grown into something I never imagined. My dream is to continue growing this small business and, one day, turn it into a lifelong career doing what I truly love.

Above all, family means everything to me. I want to take a moment to thank my parents for believing in me every step of the way.
